This polycarbonate tube is 900 mm long. If you want a shorter holder tube, simply cut the top off to the desired length (using a saw or a pipe cutter). The bottom end is threaded to fit the anchor and the tip. Every time the anchor is retrieved there is a risk of scratching, especially in sand. Use a new tube for critical missions. |

Tool for pushing a SediMeter with integral LogDator (e.g. SM2A) into a soft bottom from a boat or from ice. Use with the tip above. Buy as many rods (below) as are required. Not compatible with optional light sensor or UW bulkhead connector. This method of mounting the SediMeter is suitable for low-energy environments with very soft bottoms, where diving is not an option, or when one does not want to disturb the sediments by screwing down an anchor.
