Forty years after shooting underwater with a 16 mm Bolex camera, I returned to Sharm el-Sheikh, Sinai, to shoot a video with a modern digital Fujifilm camera. This time, the protagonist was not a beautifully colored fish, but a SediMeter™ SM4P sediment monitoring instrument. The simple story line highlights the intended use: Monitor sedimentation in coral reef areas to protect it from getting smothered by siltation from nearly dredging or construction works.
